dreams unfulfilled

It was morning 8 and I was almost there at my PS station.
I had been travelling for over an hour now.
The phone rang ... it was
Dhvaj calling, one of my PS mates.
I didnt expect any such call at this time,
coz at this time hardly any of my other PS-mates get up. Well I thought may be he is calling to tell us, me n Shubhanshi, that there's not much of work today so it is possible for us to bunk.
But it was for
something that left us all stunned.

Just because a brief description of who these people are is necessary before i describe any further, here it goes. Our PS(Practise School) station, CFCL, is a little more than one hour drive from Kota, comprising of 6 Bitsians in PS1 ,namely:
me,
Shubhanshi n Dhvaj who are residents of Kota of which the two girls prefer a daily up down, and Kshitij, Abhinav and Abhishek.
5 other PS2 students are also registered.

The call gave us the shocking news..... the news which was in papers the next day.... the news which meant we were 10 Bitsians left on CFCL campus instead of 11 now...

It was all so cheerful the previous day, playing pranks on each other and everyone getting together and pulling shubhanshi's leg for some reason.PS2 was just about to get over ,in fact the PS2 students had the very same day given their last evaluated assignment. Training was getting over in less than 10 days which would make them 'a proud engineer'.
But it had to be a different way... the fateful swimming pool....

Two of his family members came to take him to Hyderabad, their native place, after completing the formalities. They were not his mom n dad... who would have been unable to see their only son lying without movement... the only son they were dreaming for...
that he would be an engineer soon...
and then he would get a sweet salary, his first one and hand it over to his mother.
And when he would be old enough ... he would get a daughter-in-law for them...
who would then give them a new heir to the family.....

but some dreams remain unfulfilled....

The 4 PS2 students shifted to the hostel with the PS1 guys, from the staff quarter that they were allotted earlier. This hopefully would not remind them of the place where he slept, the drawer where he kept his books, the almirah which used to hold his clothes.....
but still it did remind them... of everything that happened...

They hadn't slept for 2 nights... or rather couldn't sleep.

The reading room wont be that lively a place now, but we will try our best to revive it. For the 10 of us... the attitude for life will surely face a change... coz it always takes u through unexpected steep turns...
where u never know where u will end the next moment....
still on track........
or at the foot of the mountain.....
